Making Up For Monday #1
This is a meme hosted by An Avid Reader, A Wannabe Writer. Every week there is a theme or game, or something fun to do that week.
This weeks question is: What do you do if someone you love recommends a book and you end up hating it?
This is a good question, this has happened to me a few times, and I definitely believe that honesty is the best policy. There's no point trying to lie to someone about how much you enjoyed a book, because if they enjoyed the book that much they'll be able to see straight through you!!
I was recommended a number of books by people which turned out to be disappointing, these include Life of Pie by Yann Martel, a book that both my mum and dad really enjoyed, but I found to be a bit of a let down. But we are all mature adults, so we were able to discuss our thoughts and opinions about the book, and we were all able to see each other's points of views.
So, overall I definitely think that even if someone loves the book and you absolutely hated it, it's always best to be honest, and you can always have a really great discussion about the book, especially if you don't agree with each other!!!
