Hi guys, first of all Happy New Year, I realise its a little late :)
This post, as I'm sure you're all aware is my top 13 books of last year.
Although these are my top thirteen they aren't in order.
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
I'm a little late in getting to this book, but it was just as amazing as I had been told, it definitely lived up to its reputation.
Terra by Gretchen Powell
If I hadn't been asked to join the blog tour of this, I probably would never have picked this up. I'm very glad I did, its a great dystopian read that deserves more attention.
Winter in Madrid by C.J. Sansom
This has to be one of my favourite adult books I read this year, its set in post civil war Spain. It had a great romance, and plenty action.
Across the Universe by Beth Revis
I love sci-fi, and this one had been on my TBR pile for ages, I really enjoyed it when I picked it up. It's got a great setting, and although some of the twists were a tad predictable, it was still a great read.
The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
I love everything about Sherlock Holmes, and this didn't disappoint. Its definitely one of, if not my favourite Sherlock Holmes story.
Blood Red Road by Moira Young
I had heard a lot about his novel in the book blogging community, and I was really excited to check it out. The relationship between the siblings is great, and it's a great dystopian read.
Divergent by Veronica Roth
This one doesn't really need much explaining does it? It's a great book, I need to read the rest of the trilogy soon.
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
Patrick Ness is definitely my favourite author at the moment, and this novel was just as good as I expect from him.
Light by Michael Grant
This is the last novel in the Gone series, a series I have been reading for a couple of years. The series is great, check it out if you can!
Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness
This was another series I finished this year, it was a great conclusion to a truly epic trilogy.
The Prey by Andrew Fukuda
This is the sequel to The Hunt which I also read this year. I love this book, its gory and scary, but the characters are deep enough that they stand on their own without this action.
Fuse by Julianna Baggott
This is another sequel I read this year, to the novel Pure. This is another dystopian novel, in a series that I love.
The Host by Stephanie Meyer
I'm not a huge fan of the Twilight series so I was reluctant to pick this novel up, but when I did I was pleasantly surprised. This is much better than the Twilight novel, and its supposed to be a series too!
Thanks very much for reading :)
